It is in all our interests to eat fresh wholesome food every day. No other purchase that we make is anything like as important as buying food and yet we pay scant attention to the origins of modern produce.
A group from Martin in Hampshire have formed a co-operative to try and produce as much of our daily diet as is possible from fields and barns within our parish boundary. We intend to hire the best people to run the farm and to work the enterprise on an extensive system using the minimum of chemical inputs.
It is our hope that increasing numbers of people will join us in this exciting venture based on good prices, good flavour, and local origins (so local that you can visit the fields on foot!)
Who knows where this socio-economic parish enterprise might lead?
