Where it occasionally becomes necessary to use chemicals to protect a crop, we use only those that are approved for organically grown produce. 

We use only natural organic fertilisers, thus avoiding the pollution associated with artificial fertilisers. We do not use any GM varieties of vegetables.

Wherever possible, we control pests using barrier methods and by introducing natural insect predators. Using these methods avoids the need to spray with potentially harmful pesticides. The cabbages pictured on the left are being grown under a fine mesh to protect them from caterpillars.
